  1. My Daddy's Grand Uncle - Owen McGovern - was going out of the of town of Ballyconnell with a horse. Soldiers came along and offered him five pounds for the horse. He put up a fight with them as he did not want to satisfy them by giving them the horse. They stabbed him with their bayonets
