  1. Potatoes are grown on our farm every year. There are two acres sown with potatoes.
    My father prepares the ground.
    If it is set in ridges the manure is spread first, and the soil is turned up, but if it is coped it is turned up first, and then the manure is put on it.
    If it is set in drills the ground is ploughed and harrowed and ploughed and harrowed again. Then the drills are opened and the potatoes are dropped into them and the drills are closed again.
    We usually set potatoes in ridges. A thin rope is
