  1. Wesby was the landlord of Tullagower. His descendants came over with Cromwell and the payment they got was long stretches of land over which they were made landlords. Wesby was a bad landlord and if the tenants had not the money in due time he would evict them at once. In many places he evicted poor people, and put them out on the side of the road, and gave their farms over to land grabbers.
    There was another landlord in Tullycrine whose name was Vandeleur. He evicted several people in the district. The people resisted and barricaded their houses with big stones, and planks of timber, and they left only a small passage into the rooms. They had also a big pot of boiling porridge in the kitchen, and when Vandeluer and his men tried to open the doors, they poured the boiling porridge upon them and they had to retreat.
