Long ago the people did not eat the same sort of food as they do now.

Long ago the people did not eat the same sort of food as they do now. They used to eat more home-made food.
They used to eat soda-bread, boxty, oatmeal bread, culcannon, (sic) fish and potatoes.
They used to eat potatoes very often. They ate them two or three times every day.
The people did not drink much tea long ago. They drank it out of mugs made of wood. These mugs were called "noggins". The people long ago were healthier than they are now.
