    Long ago everything was made by hand and this gave employment to the people. Now most things are made by machinery.
    Mr Philip Allen and his two sons carried on a nail industry in Chapel Road, Belturbet. His daughter has a shop there at present.
    Mr John Fitzpatrick, The Lawn, Belturbet had a coach-building factory.
    Mr Jack Toner, Bridge St, Belturbet made and repaired churns and barrels. He still carries on this work.
    Mr. John Kennedy, Teemore is an expert thatcher. Mr Edward Fee, Drumacon is a good thatcher.
