  1. First the ground is ploughed into ridges. Then the potatoes are put down in the ground. After that the manure is put out and spread over the potatoes. Then the men come with a plough and score the furrow. Then the manure is covered with mould. When the potatoes peep above the ground, they are shovelled. In the summer months they are weeded and sprayed to keep away the blight. In Autumn they are dug into heaps. Then is Spring they are put into lofts to save. In mossy ground people sod with a spade made by a blacksmith. In olden times people used a wooden plough in mossy ground.
