    My Home District.
I live in the townland of Aughersakilla in the parish of Tomregan. There are 22 houses in my townland, 11 thatched and 11 slated. Most of the houses are in good order. The oldest man in my townland is Tom Jones. He is 90 years of age. There are 84 persons in my district. There are 3 or 4 ruins of old houses. It is said that there used to cock fighting in Aughersakilla and that it got its name from the word coileach meaning cock. The most common name in my townland is Reilly.
