- About the year 1881 there was the heaviest snow fall that ever was heard of. The glens were a plain there were that full of snow and there was a great shortage of water. The people had to take in the snow and melt it in pots for houses use. There set in a frost then, that lasted for seven weeks and at that time the people carted across Lough Erne to Lisnaskea.
