  1. St Senan is the patron Saint of this locality. He was born at Moylougha four miles to the east of Killrush. He was descended from HEarmon son of Milesius the Spanish Monarch. His father's name was Gerriginus and his mother's name was Congella.

    One day St Senan was going with his father to a fair in Kilkee and when they were coming home from the fair the tide was out on the road there near Moyasta. No body was able to pass and St Senan came along and the tide went into the sea and all the people were wondering
