    Our foes they were confounded
    They sank beneath despair,
    Great acclamations reached the skies,
    With voices that were shrill
    To defend brave noble Lawlor
    The pride of Cloverhill

    I dont care who is offended
    At these few and simple lines
    It is well known that I am a noble lord,
    Although in deep disguise
    My intellect has fled from me,
    And I can say no more
    May the poet bright still gain delight
    All round the Shamrock shore

    Seven hundred was the number
    That assembled at one call
    Out foes they were confounded
    They did not know what to do at all,
    Like Boys troops they did appear
