    It was over hills and overdales and over mountain sides,
    Her father followed after her and his well armed band,
    Till taken was poor Rielly, and his own Dear Cáilín Bán.

    It was in cold irons I was bound my love sent word to me,
    Dont fear my father's anger,
    I will set you free.
