  1. We have many expressions about animals such as about dogs and cats.
    "Dog's ears", We speak of dog's ears on a book when the corners are turned up.
    "Dog's Life", If a person is being ill treated we speak of him having a dog's life.
    "Dog's Trot", Children go to school on a dog's trot, neither running or walking, we say they go on a dog's trot.
    "Dog tired", When a person is very tired, we say he is dog tired.
    "Not fit for the dogs", or "The dogs of Cavan would not eat it", When a thing is bad we say "Not fit for the dogs".
    "Dog and cat Life". When two people are always fighting we say they lead a cat and dog life.
    "Like an ass eating thistles". When a person is doing something he says he does not do, but that we know he likes doing very well, we sat he does it like an ass eating thistles.
    "Dog's Heads", If there are lumps in your bed when you get in at night, you say your bed is full of Dog's heads.
