    The child lets loose, by holding his hand over near the hand of the person that is playing with him, but not letting go his hold of the handkerchief.

  2. there were many superstitions in olden times, and we have got some remaining.
    "If you see two magpies, it is said you will have joy.
    If you see one magpie you will have sorrow.
    I you see a ghost coming after you, it is said to put your hand towards him and he will be gone.
    If you stray out of your path it is said to turn your coat and you will get the right path.
    if you are giving a pin to any person always give it with the head of it towards the person, or if you don't it is said, you will have ill luck.
    If you break a looking glass you will have seven years bad luck.
    See a pin and pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck.
    Two people looking in a mirror at the same time brings bad luck.
