  1. John Clarke who lived in a field beside our house was a tailor. The people used to go to him with the cloth and he would make the clothes. Before a fair he would buy as much cloth as would make eleven or twelve suits and on that day he would sell them at the fair.
    Mathew Lynch another tailor of this district lived on Baran Lynch's mountain. He used to go round every other day and sell the clothes he made. He was supposed to be the best tailor in this district.
    He brought the clothes in a pony and cart and went to every house in this district.
    Stockings were and are knitted locally. John Clark's wife was a noted knitter.
