  1. On this night everyone in this district celebrates the feast of the New Year's Eve in splendour. They have drink and all sorts of eatable to make this night the brightest of the year. They also look forward for a brighter New Year.
Everyone in my district goes to town to get fish and beef to have for the next day. All people in my district stay out of bed until twelve oclock that night because this used to be done long ago.
A certain man in this district while coming home from his ceilid he saw a terrible ghost about a yard before him on the road. Then ghost caught him by the hand and on that very moment the man fell dead. After this everyone is afraid to leave there house on that night.
There are some songs sung on this night and I will name some "Ring out the old year ring in the new" This song is sung until twelve o'clock that night. There was a dance in a house in this district and that night the boys went to the dance ut they would not be let in. On this account they made a song on the people of the house.
