    and the man told him that he was wheeling daylight into a dark corner but he was not succeeding and he told him there was a much easier way of doing it than that. So he got a hammer and took a stone out of the wall and this let in the light and the other man said "O you have the "nack" of doing things". He went on to the next house. Here he saw a woman beating a cow up again the wall. He asked her what she was doing and she told him that she was trying to get the cow up on the house to eat the grass off it. So he told her there was a much easier way of doing it than that. He told her that she could get a knife and cut the grass of it. And she told him that he had "the nack" of doing things. He went home and had nothing to say only that he met three people as bad as his own.

  2. Once upon a time there lived in the parish of Kill a man and his wife and a son and daughter. They were well off. They had a lovely gray pony and a rubber tyred trap. One day a neighbours son brought a new motor car and Mrs Gaskety wanted to be as good as him and wished to buy a car two. She did not know how to break the subject
