  1. In olden times the people used to eat three meals every day. Those meals were the breakfast, the dinner and the supper. The breakfast was usually taken about eight o'clock. The dinner was taken about twelve o'clock and the supper about eight o'clock in the evening.
    In former years the people used to work for two hours before their breakfast. The breakfast usually consisted of oaten porridge and butter-milk. The dinner consisted of potatoes, bacon and cabbage. The supper consisted of oaten porridge and butter-milk.
    In former years the people sat around a basket to eat their dinner. In winter the people used salt herrings for their dinner. Sometimes the people would eat oaten-brad and milk in the evening. It was customary in former times to eat eggs three times on Easter Sunday.
    Tea was used for the past fifty years. Before that very little was used. Noggins were used before cups or mugs were made. They were of
