  1. The Famine
    In the year of The Famine a lot of people died from starvation. The potato crop was a failure. The oats had to be sold to pay the rent. The population was twice as large as it is now. In every town there was stirabout houses as they were called. The poor people would go there with a vessel and get some to take home.
