To see their innocent pastimes
And to hear their laughing voice
VThey scarcely were a mile from land
Till their cries were heard quite clear
The boat began to spring a leak
And shook them all with fear
In terror shook their cries for help
Could be heard for miles around
But before relief could reach them
To the bottom they went down
VIIt would take a tear from the strongest heart
That ever been in man
To see the parents that evening
All around Lough Sillan Strand
The fathers they were frantic
And the mothers screaming wild
O God above where is my love
