  1. Saint Brigid 'The Mary of the Gael was a woman not only of great holiness, but also of great zeal and energy in doing the work of God. She made missionary journeys throughout various parts of Ireland. She founded many churches and near to her churches we find the holy wells that still bear her name, and are held in great veneration by the people.
    Saint Brigid's Shrine Faughart near Dundalk. There is a beautiful shrine at Faughart Dundalk called 'Saint Brigid's Stream'. It is yearly frequented by great crowds of pious pilgrims who perform the station there on the Saints feast day, and leave many votive offerings behind them to testify the power of the prayers on their behalf
    Saint Brigids Well near Virginia Co Cavan was visited this year on the First Sunday after St Brigids Feast 1st February by the Bishop. The Bishop Most Revd Dr Lyons recited prayers at the well and thanked the people
