  1. Some of the games I play in the evening to amuse myself are
    French Tig,
    Hurling,
    Tennis, and
    Skipping.
    When we are playing French Tig, the person who is hit but keep her hand on the place where she is hit. Supposing she were hit on the leg, then she must keep her hand on her leg until someone else is caught and then the person caught must do the same.
    Autumn is the season for blackberry-picking and nut-cracking. On Hallow E'en night, it is the custom to gather round the fire and have games such as melting lead, burning nuts, and hanging apples on strings and trying to bite at them.
