  1. Most marriages are held locally after Lent. Tuesday and Saturday are supposed to be unlucky days, also the month of May. There is money given as dowry to the person who gets married.
    Sometimes a feast is held in the girl's house or in a hotel.
    "Straw-boys" visited the houses in olden times and they were dressed in straw and sacks. They danced and sang inside and outside and the people gave them money and drink.
