  1. A family, that once lived in Whitewood, Co. Meath, was very fond of foxes and foxhunting.
    Every time one of the family was about to die, several foxes could be heard crying round the house for three preceding nights. They also followed the funeral as far as possible and sometimes to the graveyard.
    For three nights after the funeral, they could be seen round the grave.
