  1. Long ago, Cromwell had a Castle at Cloughrea. There was a bog there called the Castle bog. Cromwell said he was going to take all the gold from the people. When the people heard this, they gathered all the gold together. They put it into a wagon drawn by four oxen and brought it to the bog. They threw it into the bog. The gold is supposed to be there yet.
