- Last evening, I took a walk around Mullagh lake. On its shores, I met a boatman who has lived there all his life. His father and grandfather lived there before him.
He told me that, often and often, as he passes the lake at night, he plainly hears the sound of rowing a boat near him in the water and the oars making their own peculiar noise in the row-locks.
I asked him if there were any stories concerning this strange noise. He said there were not but that residents on the lake-shore believe that(continues on next page)- Collector
