- The other night I heard a very interesting ghost story which happened near Mullagh.
One moon light night, as a man was coming from the village of Mullagh, he spied a big man with a hound running after a rabbit in a field near the road-side.
The man stood for a few moments looking at them. In the end, he gained courage and went in to the field. He took up a big stone and struck the rabbit dead. He looked at the man because he thought he did a great deed, but instead of a smiling face he saw a ghostly frown on its face and a look as if he were very vexed.
The man went home but, sad to say he died that night.
It is said this big man must have been a ghostly member of the Fianna because they were always noted for hunting and no one dared to interfere with their(continues on next page)- Collector
