  1. An Old Song

I went last Friday to draw me ould pay

I went last Friday to draw me ould pay
I struck a man with a brick in the middle of the day
There is going to be a summons
There is going to be a row
There are more than forty policemen and they are looking for me now
There is one at Fisher's corner with numbers on his coat
If he gets a hold of me
He will hang me by the throat
They brought me up the barrack street
And said that I was drunk
    They fined me forty shillings
And I will have to pay them up
    If I had a penny
    I'd buy a penny gun
I'd fill it up with gun powder and make the police run.
