  1. Another very good poet about this district is Phil Duffy. he made a good poem called "The Virginia Juniors." Here is a few verses of it.
    I
    The Virginia juniors are now mustered up,
    They got into the lorry for Ballyjamesduff,
    They fought and they squabbled and they said they wouldn't go,
    And the first man selected was Peter McGeogh.
    II
    Packie Mooney was there with his back to the wall,
    He said he didn't come to play football at all,
    He shook and he shivered, till they (though) thought he was dead,
    When he saw the wild looks of Micksie - the - head.

    (Johnny (Mullay) Mullaly was there with his back to the)
    Johnny Mulally was there, sure a man or renown,
    King calls him his page-boy when he
