On this page

  1. There was a hedge in Ballaghanea in the corner of a field bordering a bog. The field was owned by Mr. Sheridan who was the teacher. He taught in a "boghan". His pupils came from far and near unknown at night. His pencil was a burned stick and a jotter. Irish was the principal subject but he taught some Latin. It existed about one hundred years ago.
