  1. There is a hill in the townland of Ballaghanea and it is locally known as Sergeant's Hollow. It is called after a man named Sergeant who lived in a house at the top of the hill. His land stretched from Ballaghanea to the park at Virginia.
    It is said that he was shot and buried on his land. His ghost is to be seen there yet.
    Perche's Angle
    There is an angle on Lough Ramor called Perches angle. It is so called because all the perches gather together at it a certain time of the year.
    Tipper's Rock
    About a mile from Virginia on the Dublin Road there is a very large rock known as Tipper's Rock.
