  1. There are two periods in the year in which no marriages take place except with special permission namely Lent and Advent.
    The days thought lucky for marriages are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
    There is a rhyme about the days thought lucky and unlucky for marriage. Monday is for health, Tuesday is for wealth, Wednesday is the best day of all, Thursday is for losses, Friday is for crosses, and Saturday is no day at all.
    There is another rhyme about the colours to get married in.
