  1. There was an old school in the townland of Cornaslieve about a hundred years ago.
    It was built up at the back of a ditch, it was a flat roofed house covered with straw.
    The walls were built of sods and stones. The door was left up against a hole in the wall and on a windy day, they would put a stick to the back of it to prevent it from falling.
    There were holes in the walls for windows and if it were raining or snowing they would stuff them with straw or a bag.
    There were no seats in the school and the pupils would sit on straw on the floor.
