  1. John and his wife Mary lived together. One day he set out to bring home a creel of turf and as he was going to meet a friend of his who told him that his brother was dead.
    They decided they should exchange clothes as John had only his every-day suit on. His friend went to a bog for the turf and set out home. On his way home he had to cross a deep stream and when he was crossing he slipped and fell in.
    Mary despairing o her husband returning set out to look for him. She called a few of her neighbours When they found him he was black and blue in the face, and she recognised
