- Hurling was played long ago. It is said that the people had no hurleys and they used to get an ash stick and cut it out in the shape of a hurley.
- About thirty years ago there was a team known as the Killinkere Defenders. They played at Lurgan against the Lurgan men, and after a fierce struggle the Lurgan men won.
