- Hurling was played long ago. It is said that the people had no hurleys and they used to get an ash stick and cut it out in the shape of a hurley.

- About thirty years ago there was a team known as the Killinkere Defenders. They played at Lurgan against the Lurgan men, and after a fierce struggle the Lurgan men won. There were fifteen men on each team; they were all very strong men; one of them was as good as two men now. It is said when(continues on next page)
