  1. This is the way "boxty" is made, - The potatoes are mashed and the water is (presed) pressed out of them. Then they are mixed with flour and baked in an oven like bread.

  2. In farmers house oaten bread is baked by putting the wet meal standing against a griddle in front of the fire. It is tuned from one position to another until it is crisp. It is them cooled and eaten.
