  1. Potatoes were not eaten at every meal. Instead of tea they drank milk both buttermilk and sweet milk. Long ago the people sat round the basket with noggins in their hands full of butter. They ate the potatoes with the noggin of butter. Fish was unusual and they never bought it. The caught the fish in the river themselves.
