If he was not back by a certain time he could not get the land or deeds. Captain Culme came back in a ship into one of the ports one the appointed day to claim his land. On his way to Virginia the coach on which he was travelling broke down and he landed in Virginia an hour after the selected time and so he did not get estate. The deeds are said to be cut out on a slab of stone. They are supposed to be on the bottom of Lough Ramor.
