- The principal fairs of Virginia are the horse and sheep fair. The two are held on the one day which is the September fair. There is no special fair for cattle.

- Lord Headfort was our landlord. He has only a few houses. Captain Culme got the land extending from Burreen Bridge down to Murmod Bridge. He then left for America to get money to pay his debts. He left his estate to the Taylor family who were school teachers, until he would come back.(continues on next page)
