  1. Our cows are tied by the neck to a stake put firm in the ground with a ring and a chain on it so as to give the cow freedom of her head to eat her hay and to lie down and rise. One of them is a Kerry and the others are short horns. They are put in to milk in the evenings about seven o'clock and the same in the mornings. There is a man near us who ties them by the horns with a chain.
