  1. Long ago the people never wore boots until they were about sixteen or seven-teen years old. There is an old saying about boots.
    "Boots in the cradle, and none when you are able."
    Nowadays the children go barefooted in the Summer, and wear boots in the Winter.
    There are many shoe-makers in this locality such as Pat Hopkin, Peter Smyth or "Shionta" and Caffery from Dunancory.
    To wash your feet in cabbage water is good for them.
