"The wren, the wren, the king of all birds
On St. Stephen's Day was caught in the furze,
Up with the kettle and down with the pan,
Give me a penny or two, to bury the wren.
Get up young lady and give us a penny,
And if you will, we will bless your store
If you don't, we'll bury the wren outside your door."
On Easter Sunday morning children get up early to see the sun dancing. Every member of the family eats at least one egg, and some eat two, three, and even as many as four at breakfast. During the day, if it be fine, children take eggs with them and go out in the fields and up on the hills where they light fires, boil eggs, roast them and make tea. This they call their "cluóg."
