  1. Years ago there lived a priest in the townland of Aughaloora, this priest was silenced. he was very fond of drink and this was the cause of his suspension from the Catholic Church.
    Some years after he being suspended the Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise was on his way to confirm the children in Granard, when he met Father Galligan and he and Father Galligan had an argument on the road.
    The Bishop went on his Journey, and just a short distance from the town of Granard the horses and carriages stopped and would not go on for him. The Bishop said this is some of "Fr Galligan's"
