  1. When St Patrick was teaching in Ireland he was so tired that he slept and n his sleep he cursed Ireland twice
    When he cursed it the first time there was a priest standing beside him and he said, ''Let it fall on the tops of the rushes.''
    Then with all his troubles and all his hardships he cursed it a second time.
    This time another priest was standing near said ''Let it fall on the tops of the whins.''
    And from that day to this the tops of the whins and the rushes are withered.
