  1. Once upon a time a man and his son went to steal turf, when they were going across the bog the father fell into a bog hole. His son went to the nearest neighbour's house to get a spade to dig out his father.
The man of the house asked the boy, "How deep is he down?" And the boy said to him, "He's down to his ankles" then man said "Sure can't he get out so?" "Oh, but sir" says the boy "its his head that's down".
