  1. There was a man coming home from his visit and as he was coming down the road at Mr. Murrays crossroads in Graddum he heard marching so he stood to listen it came nearer and nearer and as it cam up beside him it appeared to him to be a big dog, so he had a revolver in his pocket he went to take it out to shoot the dog and as he went to draw out the revolver out of his pocket it failed him and he could not pull it out. So the dog disappeared and the man went home frightened.
    He's fishing with a long rod = he is poking his nose into everybody's business.
