  1. Long ago there lived a man who had a pet goat and a pet monkey. Everywhere this man used to go the pets would follow him. One day the man went to bathe, and the pets went with him. He brought some sandwiches with him. He got into the water for a swim. The monkey got hungry, and he searched his master's pockets, but he could not find anything but letters. He then went to the bag that contained the sandwiches and ate them all. The goat looked sadly on. When the monkey had finished eating he rubbed the crumbs on the goat's whiskers. When the man came in from bathing he went over to the bag for something to eat, but he found nothing. He looked at the goat and noticed some crumbs on her whiskers
