  1. It was during the Catholic persecution that landlords got so great a say in Ireland, each district had its own landlords and each in their way showed the power which they held. A well known local landlord was Mr Tatalo who lived for a great number of years in Lismore House Crossdoney which is now occupied by the Burrowes family. His widow died about two months ago in her 100 year.
Another of our local landlords was Mr Cunningham. He was supposed to be a very good landlord but his local agent was a very bad and cruel man. He was Mr William Addie and lived where Miss R.A. Finegan now resides.
