    In the town-land of Mullahoran there is a man by the name of Patrick McCabe, he got his name as ''The Local poet'' he composed this poem of the election
    Cavan topped the poll.
    I
    O Breffni sons and daughters
    fair,
    Rejoiced in heart and soul
    When Sheridan at the
    fighting race In Cavan topped
    the poll,
    Although defeated twice
    before he knew that in
    the end,
    The faithful blood of Cavan
    sons his banner would
    defend,
    That dear old flag was
