According to ancient lore there is a whole host of "dos" and "donts" for those about to marry, should they desire good fortune to attend the nuptials, and the bride must see that she transgresses none of the rules laid down by Fate if she is to enjoy a married life of unannoyed bliss. Her luck will be out if she does not make a large portion of her trousseau but she must not make her own wedding dress. If the girls who sew the bridal gown wish to me married soon they should enclose one of their own hairs in the folds. As regards the choice of wedding day, the popular Jingle runs Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses and Saturday no luck at all. There seems to be a general dislike of Monday and Friday. Wednesdays and Saturday are by far the most popular days especially in June and particularly if it be the fourth day of that month. June is named in honour of the Godess June the protector of women. Old tradition demands that the bride wear something old, something new, something
